BBB is here to create opportunities for young ladies to be physically and mentally prepared to do the work necessary to be leaders in their community, as well as engage with stakeholders that can also support them with meeting the needs within their community.
Dr. Jacqueline Marshall - President - Founder
President Dr. Jacqueline Marshall was born in Washington D.C and raised in Prince George's County Maryland. Having attended Kettering Elementary and Middle School before graduating from Largo High School in 1994, she is a proud product of the gorgeous Prince George’s County.
Dr. Marshall went on to the University of MD College Park where she graduated in 1998 and received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications. From there she obtained a Masters of Arts in Reading Education from Bowie State and a Masters of Science in Administration and Leadership from Trinity University, both in 2006. |
Dr. Marshall most recently received her Doctorate Degree in Leadership and Policy from the University of Maryland College Park in 2017. She has worked for the Prince George's County School system for a total of 19 successful years. Dr. Marshall is a passionate Champion for Children. She always puts children first and believes that “we cannot predict the future, but we can create it.” Every school is filled with scholars of great potential. Dr. Anita Walls - Board Member
Dr. Anita Walls is a Director of School Support with Achievement Network. She works alongside school leaders and teachers in Washington, D.C and Baltimore City Public Schools to provide support, training, and coaching around instructional leadership, data driven instruction, common core standards, and strategies to increase student achievement. She also consults with Teaching Lab and UnboundEd as a national facilitator focusing on the intersection of standards, aligned curriculum, content, and educational equity. Prior to becoming a Leadership Coach, Anita spent 5 years as Principal and 10 years as a Reading Specialist, Testing Coordinator, and Teacher with Prince George’s County Public Schools. She graduated from Hampton University where she received a BA in Psychology and a MA in Elementary Education.

She received a second MS in Reading Education from Coppin State University and an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership and Policy from the University of Maryland College Park. Her dissertation focused on the subjective exclusionary discipline practices applied to African American males. She is passionate about social justice and inequitable practices that plague students in schools.
Dr. Walls is an advocate for all students and works tirelessly to ensure that students gain exponential academic growth and are productive members of society. She enjoys supporting leaders and teachers and believes through hard work and focus on equity, all students can succeed. In 2019, Dr. Walls was awarded, as one the Forty Under 40 by Prince George’s County Social Innovation Fund.

Alma Marshall - Board Member
Alma J. Marshall was born in Richmond, Virginia and raised in Bowling Green, Kentucky. After graduating from High St. Highschool, she attended Virginia Union University receiving her Bachelor of Arts Degree. Alma also took graduate studies in Early Childhood Education at Trinity University. While teaching kindergarten at Thomson Elementary School in Washington D.C, student teachers from Howard University completed their internship under her supervision. After teaching for 30 years at Thomson Elementary, she retired from the D.C Public School System.
Upon Retirement she taught in Prince George’s County Public School System. Alma married Bobby Marshall. Together they have 3 children and 8 grandchildren.

Alma provides middle and high school students the opportunity to receive service hours by working in her after school program and A&K Family Learning Place Summer Camp. Alma continues to tutor students in the community and she enjoys working with BBBYEG to enable our girls to become outstanding citizens.
Nakia R. Wright - Board Member
A native of Prince George's County, Maryland, Nakia R. Wright was born to be an answer for this time. Her mission is to be a part of the solution – to be a strong voice emphasizing core values of hope and possibilities; believing that regardless of where one comes from, they can be anything.
With a skillset undergirded by an educational foundation from Prince George’s County, Nakia Wright’s degree in Business Administration & Management was lifelong preparation for this moment of impact. Having proudly become Dr. Nakia Wright in 2014, she exemplifies excellence in financial and operational leadership, strategic planning, operating budgets, and project management.

Nakia is a vibrant leader, full of passion, humor, and big ideas. Working in the community, witnessing the effects of legislation, the influence of zoning laws, and their impact on the future of our county; In 2021 Nakia was compelled to run for County Council in order to harness the momentum of progress and channel its energy into opportunities that cause our county to thrive. In 2022, Nakia accepted the position of Director of Outreach & Constituent Services for the office of Delegate Darryl Barnes.
