Kalyn Upshaw - Executive Administrator

Kalyn Upshaw is a nonprofit professional, technology specialist, and community advocate dedicated to creating meaningful change through service, education, and leadership. A Spring 2020 graduate of Towson University with a bachelor's degree in Deaf Studies, Kalyn began her higher education journey at the Academy of Health and Science at Prince George's Community College, where she earned both her high school diploma and Associate's degree at just 17 years old. Entering Towson University as a sophomore, she completed her bachelor's degree in only three years.

Throughout her career, Kalyn has remained committed to serving others. Her passion for community engagement has led her to support children in need of educational resources, advocate for adults navigating mental health challenges, and contribute to organizations dedicated to empowering underserved communities.

Known for her compassion, adaptability, and collaborative leadership, Kalyn believes that lasting change begins with investing in people. She is continually inspired by the strong Black women in her family, whose example of resilience, service, and integrity has shaped both her personal values and professional journey.

She lives by a quote from Verneice E. Hart that continues to guide her purpose:

"As you open your eyes each morning, thank God for keeping you through the night and think of how you can help somebody today. It doesn't have to be a big thing. Small things count too. You will feel good about it at the close of the day."
